HUMAN AND MIND

Can people make their own decisions? In our whole life they have taught us humans have will power . With this ability human can think and choose right things to wrong things. But according to Mark Twain Human is just a machine. Why does he think human is only a machine? Are we that simple? He is explaining us in his book “What is man?”.

First of all, what is a machine? Machine is something that mechanically does its job which it was designed to do. It can be made by iron, silver, gold or just stone. If it is made by stone it won’t be useful, if it is made by iron, it will be more useful. But finding iron requires more effort compared to finding stone. Lets match these attributes to human’s characters.

           Human can be made by iron, silver, gold or just stone too. If you got good education and have good friendships, you are made by gold. But if you didn’t get good education and have friends which have bad behaviour, you are made by stone. But why am I explaining this? What does this have to do with human will power? It is simple, you can’t blame stone machine for being stone machine. And gold machine can’t be proud of being gold machine. Everything affects us since we were born. Family, where we live, friendships, education, time and even people which we saw on street affects us. Human can not think, human has been taught. If a person is choosing right things it is not because that person can think and make his own decision, but it is what our World has taught us. But what about people who are choosing wrong things instead of right things. Of course we have been taught to not choose wrong things. But also their life caused them to think about wrong behaviour like stealing.

In conclusion, human is machine. Human is what his life made him. He can not think something on his own. There is always an effect that pushes him to think about something. He lives mechanically. He has no speciality. But of course that is what Mark Twain says.
